About Todd
Who was Todd? For those of us who knew him, love him, and miss him dearly every day, there are a million answers to this question. He was a friend to all who knew him. He was a son, grandson, and brother who always put his family before everyone and everything else. He was the guy who could walk into any room and transform a typical day into unimaginable fun. He was fearless, hilarious, kindhearted, and loving beyond words. He was an inspiration, a fighter, and a hero.
Todd chose to love life and he looked at every day as an opportunity to find something new and wonderful to enjoy. Even when Todd, as a high school student, was diagnosed with cancer, his attention turned to those around him. He wanted to be sure we were all okay, that we knew he was going to fight this - his first words when being told he'd have to undergo extensive treatment were "Let's do it!" - and he was going to show US how to fight this valiant battle.
On November 19, 2002, Todd passed away. While we miss him every single day and will always wonder what he'd be doing right now, he is with us in spirit as we vow to continue his battle against cancer. Todd often took it upon himself to seek out the youngest patients in the Jimmy Fund Clinic, while he was there for his own treatments, to make sure he got them to smile, laugh, and even forget where they were for a brief moment. He would show up at the Clinic in a clown suit, befriend the shyest kid in the room, and schedule his treatments around when he wanted to see his friends, go to Fenway Park, and spend time with his family. He was, as his college roommate so perfectly described, Superman.
In that spirit, we fight Todd's battle every day. Thanks to your generosity, support, and love, we are committed to fighting cancer until it is a disease of the past. Thank you for joining us in this battle and thank you for your friendship and kindness. It's exactly what Todd would have wanted.
All our love,
Team Todd
